Dr Haslina Hashim Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UNIMAS
Dr Haslina Hashim is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), with a PhD in Social and Cultural Geography from The University of Melbourne, Australia. Her expertise lies in Human Geography, Urban Sociology, and Social Impact Assessment (SIA), with extensive experience as an EIA and SIA consultant for development, infrastructure, conservation, and energy projects in Sarawak. She has led and contributed to numerous SIA consultancy projects, with WWF and Sarawak Energy. Her research and publications focus on community development, environmental sustainability, and social dimensions of development. She has authored works on SIA methodologies and qualitative approaches in impact studies. Dr Haslina is also an active member of the Malaysian Association of Social Impact Assessment, a registered EIA consultant with NREB and an active member of the Qualitative Research Association Malaysia (QRAM).
