Surin Suksuwan Director, BCSD Malaysia

Surin is an independent consultant and trainer with more than 25 years' experience in natural resources management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability. Surin has an MSc in Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants from the University of Edinburgh and is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA). He has been involved in various projects related to biodiversity conservation and agri-commodity sustainability in Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and the Philippines. Surin is a qualified lead assessor and trainer for the High Conservation Value (HCV) approach and is also a trainer accredited by the Human Resources Development Corp of Malaysia. He is currently a Board Director of BCSD Malaysia and a co-founder of the Sunda Shelves bookshop which specialises in nature, culture and travel in Southeast Asia.
