Puan Sri Dr Jahara Yahaya Exco, Malaysian Association of Social Impact Assessment (MSIA)
Puan Sri Dr. Jahara Yahaya is a highly experienced Social Impact Assessment professional with over 10 years of experience as freelance consultant specializing in social impact assessment for development projects. Her expertise is in designing and conducting SIA studies, collecting and analysing socio-economic data, identifying and assessing social impacts, carrying out stakeholder engagement , identifying mitigation measures and developing and implementing social impact management plan. (SIMP).
She is also an experienced facilitator and trainer for SIA courses, designing and delivering training programs for aspiring SIA practitioners, focusing on SIA principles , applications , methodologies and best practices. The expected outcome of the training is to equip participants with foundational knowledge and skills in SIA and enhance their understanding of SIA fundamentals ,principles, processes and regulatory requirements.
AS a Penilai dan Penyedia Berdaftar Laporan SIA with PLAN Malaysia, Dr.Jahara Yahaya represents MSIA to serve as a member of the Expert Panel of Reviewers , evaluating SIA reports for development projects and provide feedbacks and recommendations to enhance the quality and rigor of the reports and ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements and guidelines . She is also a Certified Subject Specialist in Socio-Economic Analysis and Social Impact Assessment with the Department of Environment (DOE).
She is also the author and editor of articles and books on SIA, contributing to the advancement of SIA fundamentals , applications , methodologies , best practices and knowledge sharing . As editor to SIA -related publications , her role is to ensure that the contributors adhere to clarity , accuracy and relevance of their wrtings to SIA principles and applicatons . To date , she has co-edited four books published by MSIA Malaya ,Kuala Lumpur 1970, including the most recent on “ Social Impact Assessment : Best Practices And Professional Insights”.
