Dr. Kuppusamy Singaravelloo is a retired Associate Professor from the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. His academic career interests entailed privatisation, public enterprises, local government, housing, education, retirement planning of civil servants, and vulnerability of the informal sector. He has taught research methodology and local government management and finance including for postgraduate students. He has provided consultancy in management, finance and implementation, and economic base for numerous Local Plans and Structure Plans in Malaysia since 1993. He is an active SIA practitioner, including among others for ECRL, Bus-Rapid-Transit (BRT), MRT2, LRT3, Penang LRT, DUKE3, Banting Industrial Park, MRT2 Land Use Masterplan, Off-River Water Storage Plants, Land Reclamation, MRT3, Powerplants, Columbaria, Floating Solar Farms, and Mixed Development Projects. He has been an active professional member and treasurer of MSIA, trainer and published vastly on SIA practices, besides serving as SIA report review panel. At the international level, he has contributed in studies for ADB, UNESCO and The World Bank. He was Acting Director, and Deputy Director (Academic) at the UM Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) for almost 4 years before returning to serve twice as a Head of Department at the Faculty prior to his retirement.
